Art Of The Spirit - Spiritual Paintings

Heavy brush strokes, and dramatic colors. These paintings are executed with speed, much like an action painting, except for the foreground subject, the rest of the painting is very much coloristic abstraction.

I put a heavy emphasis on communicating the ambience and emotions in each piece.

Rather than photo-realism, I try to achieve emotional realism. Rather painting my feelings, I try to paint your feelings too.

The focus is on compositions of color and lines.

The paint is heavy. The paintings are textured, and glossy.

Art Collector Series

The "Grayscale Kid" in this series, is looking at some Masterpiece or other.

I imagine someone admiring a valuable piece of artwork, and thinking "gee if I could afford that...". Hence, the original intention for this series is a child thinking to himself "When I grow up, I want to be an Art-Collector." .

For me, to spoof a great master artist is to study him. This is tedious, but loads of fun!

These children are colorless save for their clothing and yellow orchre highlights on their skin.

These few pieces have evolved from the "Making Faces" series and grown into the "Art Collector" series.

Making Faces

A series of paintings of faces without eyes. Some are Venetian masks, which later on became more human-like.

These have since developed into something else.

Art Of The Spirit -Spiritual Paintings

These paintings have texture created by layers upon layers of acrylic paint stacked on top of each other. The paintings have a glossy surface, which makes it expecially interesting to gaze at. The technique used to create these pieces of art work are energetic. The colors resonate its energy and mood, which makes each painting unique and impossible to re-create. Such paintings are beautiful as they are functional in enriching the spirit of the space in which it is displayed.
