Heavy brush strokes, and dramatic colors. These paintings are executed with speed, much like an action painting, except for the foreground subject, the rest of the painting is very much coloristic abstraction.
I put a heavy emphasis on communicating the ambience and emotions in each piece.
Rather than photo-realism, I try to achieve emotional realism. Rather painting my feelings, I try to paint your feelings too.
The focus is on compositions of color and lines.
The paint is heavy. The paintings are textured, and glossy.

The "Grayscale Kid" in this series, is looking at some Masterpiece or other.
I imagine someone admiring a valuable piece of artwork, and thinking "gee if I could afford that...". Hence, the original intention for this series is a child thinking to himself "When I grow up, I want to be an Art-Collector." .
For me, to spoof a great master artist is to study him. This is tedious, but loads of fun!
